Does the smell of baking bread clear your mind? Does the crunch of a knife slicing through a red pepper wake you up? Does the bubbling of hot oatmeal make you feel centered? We all have to eat, so why not feed our souls as we nourish our bodies? Photos, recipes, stories - let's gather 'round the table.

Status: MemberDescription: One thing I've learned in our Spiritual Walking Group is that finding a network of people that support your efforts is a major factor in achieving your goals. With this idea in mind, Beliefnet and I are pleased to announce "America Walks with Kathy Smith," a 10-month journey that we hope will allow us to support each other in our quests to accomplish our individual aspirations, but also to work toward a common goal as a group: to be healthier in our bodies, minds, spirits, homes, schools, and planet. Every month, from now through October 4th, 2008 (the official date of the walk), I'll help us focus on different aspects of walking, personal growth, and spiritual connection. Within each month's theme, we'll also have some fun with a monthly contest and prize. As we proceed, we'll build a community of walkers, touching lives across the country with our anecdotes, our struggles, and our ever-growing support system. As we take this journey together, I encourage you to reach out to friends and family and invite them to participate. And as our group culminates with the Walk Across America on October 4th, we'll hand off a "virtual baton" from one walker to the next - symbolizing our personal goals (weight loss, lowering blood pressure, increasing energy), and at the same time, uniting in our mission to create a healthier America and a healthier world.

Will evangelicals sit the election out if Rudy Giuliani is the Republican nominee--or does Hillary Clinton's standing ovation at Saddleback mean she'll win more evangelicals than James Dobson would care to admit? God-o-Meter Politics is the place for discussion and debate about the role religion is playing in the 2008 presidential race, moderated by Beliefnet Politics Editor and God-o-Meter blogger Dan Gilgoff.
