I live with my fiancee Yanis. That's Greek for John. We have one dog, three cats and a snake. We like to joke that we have a menagerie. But we really just have a great family. I am an avid reader and writer with eclectic interests. I love non-fiction...theology, science, historical etc...
I am also a mix between a kitchen/hedge witch and an eclectic witch. I am solitary but am lucky enough to have a community to share celebrations with.
I am a believer in the idea that all faith comes from the same divine source. I believe this not only because I come from a multi-faith family but because of years of theological study in my search for spirituality. It, in my mind, lends more credence to the belief in a higher power. The fact that peoples of so many different cultures and races all, in essence, came up with the same idea. All this without trade routes without communication.
At first glance religions look so different. But as soon as you take up serious study you begin to see that the structure and anything that really matters is the same. There is just so much propaganda and prejudice out there.
I am also a firm believer in the joining of science and religion. I find the more we know the more they help explain and validate each other. Work in quantum physics has all but proven the existence of energy fields i.e. auras. Not that I believe religion has a burden to prove itself. I feel that faith is an important part of the human experience. I do ditest when people use faith to hurt or infringe on others rights. My faith will always affect my thoughts and opinions to a certain extent, but if you cannot prove something beyond a shadow of a doubt then you should not let it manipulate the lives of other people.
I am and will always be a proponent of civil rights and whether people want to admit it or not gay and lesbian rights fall into that category. If you cannot prove it don't force it. If indeed they are wrong they do not need you to tell them or judge them. Even in the Bible it says that WE ARE ALL GIVEN FREE WILL AND IF GOD GAVE IT WHO ARE YOU TO TAKE IT AWAY. Are you god? I didn't think so. Anyway, at this point you can probably tell that I am a passionate person and I am very active in my community. I have worked the election polls many years as I am a firm believer in the democratic process. Nothing is perfect and until we come up with a better process this one needs to be reinforced and monitored to work as well as it can for all of us.
I am very active with children's charities and animal rights. I believe that all innocent creature's must be protected.
I do not find it wrong to eat meat due to the fact that all living things will die. I do care though about quality of life, for all creatures. I also find it wrong to ever cause undue suffering to any person, animal, plants etc...
There's always a right way and a wrong way to do anything in life. It's about respect.
