I'M CURRENTLY ON VACATION FROM BELIEFNET AND ALL MY GROUPS AND COMMUNITIES THEREIN...IT MAY BE A PERMANENT VACATION......IT FEELS TO ME LIKE IT'S TIME TO STEP AWAY, MY JOURNEY HERE IS GOING NOWHERE NEW FAST AND IT'S A CRAZY GUY WHO KEEPS DOING THE SAME THINGS AND EXPECTING DIFFERENT RESULTS. THANKYOU ALL FOR YOUR ENGAGEMENT, IT HAS BEEN A JOURNEY, BUT IT FEELS LIKE IT'S MOVED ELSEWHERE.
Hi from Northern Ireland. Whilst I have a 'professional' background in religion (Studied and practiced evangelism with the Faith Mission, Edinburgh for 2 years and have a BA(Hons) in Theology & Pastoral Studies (Uni. of Manchester)) I am now an avid proponent of naturalist & post-theistic (atheist/ non-theist) perspective & paradigms.
I live with my fiance Trina, my son Dylan, my dog Buddha (after a gr8 philosopher- rottweiler & yorkie cross lol- it's true), my cats; Ebony & Tilly (after Paul Tillich) and my white-feathered Budgie- Phoenix (hence the handle) on the Shankill in Belfast...United Kingdom/ Island of Ireland.
As a naturalist I love religion as history, culture & transformative art, from paganisms right through. I'm highly interested in post-theistic/ atheistic pragmatic 'spirituality' and it's 'religious' application to a life lived well.
To close on this little intro., my choice of labelling below is more a case of what's available rather than a case of what's accurate. For instance, whilst I don't believe that God exists I'm not so concerned about this question that my primary paradigmatic label would be atheist (I actually prefer Non-Theist.) I practice a NonTheist-Quietist/Quaker/Hesychast-Styled-Naturalist-Spirituality, but there is no box for that one yet lol.
