Interestingly enough some of today’s hottest topics in circles of magickal and spiritual discussion include subjects relating to home protection and protecting ourselves from the effects of dark spirits in our midst! 

None of this is to say that much of the populace has spent the last ten or more years fixating on Hollywood’s own fixation onto horror initiated visions of the chaos created in demonic possession, exorcism and the thunderstruck character of all of those energetic poltergeists we see so often on theater screens.

The reality is that the veil between this world and that realm beyond is at its thinnest right now for a variety of astral and universal reasons. Part of this is the creative desire on the part of so many to dishevel and thus cast away old outmoded rules pertaining to fears and the fight or flight mentality as handed down by conventional theological sources in and about history. In short, people are growing up spiritually and are in an ever increasing want to understand what this is all about and why there are indeed spirits making all of these appearances now? Life affords us with experiences that could titillate the senses of any being in all of creation. I recently found myself responding to a query relating to the presence of spirits in our midst that sometimes have the habit of manifesting in ill manners as well as those that may just be much darker, not only in the quality of their intent but quite literally being “dark spirits” in their own right.

Sometimes these spirits are merely passing qualities that come and eventually move along to another plane without much notice. Then again, these challenging presences may for more obscure and albeit malevolent reasons of their own choosing set up quarter and this is when all sorts of trouble can begin.

In relating of perceived promiscuous spirits and perhaps "darker spirits" within our homes, when these spirits cross the boundaries of some forms of personal intrusion is when most people find themselves quickly waning in their patience to any novelty for such a presence. Lets face it, when real spirit and ghostly troubles start; nobody wants to be on the receiving end of any of it!...

I was moved by a discussion I recently read involving the ancient lines of hereditary practice in diverse forms of witchcraft as well as other forms of spiritual faith and belief and of more recent hereditary adoption of the force of the spirit.

The fabric of the hereditary purity and the force of a soul’s practice was a chief focus that seemed to be of much importance in opinion. When we come right down to it, when any form of spiritual practice, be it Pagan or Christian, Buddhist or what have you and it involves the guidance and the force of the power and the powers that be that are guiding the totality of the grand universe, who is to tell precisely what is on the charts as far as any such hierarchy of ascendency from one lineage to another?

One thing that seems to be of a general acceptance between practitioners and I must agree from my own perspective in that there are some lines of family and/or hereditary lineages if you will that are aligned with a transcendent spiritual force that just cannot be denied and nor should they!...

Just the other day I was engaged in a very rare and magnificent discussion about how we as aware beings can allow ourselves to finally move forward along the path of life. You see, we all in our own way grasp onto what we have adapted ourselves into believing makes us comfortable and safe. Most of our everyday necessities of life we take for granted. Our homes, our work, our furniture, our favorite television programs and books and our favorite music and so much more all have a common place that we presume makes us happy!...

Life carries with it many diverse threads of experiences all trained for one primary goal; the facilitation of the advancement of self!

The overall flavor that comes from so many varying capacities along the path of life sometimes feels like we are on a course to an overload of challenge coupled with the desire for achievement! Then of course we can’t forget those moments and periods where we encounter those ever so lamented periods of stagnation and what feels like an endless waiting where we learn so much from ourselves and about life itself as we struggle with our own patience. What we really are learning in such times however is how and why we should spend time turning our attention inwards.

The formula really isn’t all that difficult to parlay but along the same vein of thought it isn’t all that easy to stomach either! If you can’t relate to this, hold a conversation sometimes with a soul who has spent major portions of time in virtual solitude and ask them what was the main benefit gained from such periods of introspection...
