Dangers of having a bad attitude

    Saturday, December 29, 2012, 6:45 PM [General]

Philippians 4:8 says” Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

When it comes to our attitudes I think we all can say we need some purging here. What or why do we hold on to such bad attitudes, why haven’t we changed our attitudes? Aren’t we to have the mind of Christ. Aren’t our minds to be renewed? Then what stops us from doing it?

What I believe what stops us is our selves, in some way we still want to be able to please  ourselves by saying I still have some control over myself and we try to please God with the little thing left over.

Family we can’t be on a teter totter we can’t try to please God and ourselves, we can’t try to please God and please the world at the same time. We can’t have two masters, so today which master will you stop serving.

Did you know how we damage our health all because of our bad attitudes, did you know you can destroy your faith for your bad attitude? Did you know that bad attitudes lead so poor decisions?

Jesus tells us to choose a positive attitude like in the verse found in Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

Notice that all of those are pure and good attitudes, when you and I have those attitudes we make better decisions we have better harmony in our homes. See what has happen we literally taken this scripture and we memorized it so much that we forgot to apply these words to our lives.

One just can’t just think on them but you must use them, if you don’t then you find yourself wrestling with God and yourself. And if your attitude hasn’t changed then you will end up going with what you think is right and lay God’s word to the side.

So today your challenge is to not just think on these words but you are to use them in your everyday lives. Every word that is in the bible requires us to live it not just memorize it but live it. For example how can you say you have faith when you walk by everything except faith?

Now go out today and show God’s word to others for someone is needing to see it manifested, which means lived out…AMEN-
