We serve a living God, the very day I realised what truly God can do on our behalf.
I owned a bicycle once, and was madly in love with it. I could take it anywhere I wanted. So on this material day, I went to a market on the boundary between my ethnic tribe, and a bantu group, my main aim was to visit my grandma who happens to live along the boarder.
Am a fast rider, literarily enjoy speeding and fast things. I sped down hill, avoiding people coming to the market. Splashing across a shallow stream, I embarked on the climbing phase, where upon reaching the top, gained speed and momentum as the road became leveled.
Way ahead, four women, with baskets carefully balanced on their heads. Going home from the market. Obviously a tiring day, wishing to reach home and relax with the rest of the family. they enjoyed such moments and could talk about this and that, sharing stories and events, laughing as loud as their vocals could allow and whispering too.
As i approached them with air gushing out of my nocstrils as an angry bull, beads of sweet streaming down my neck, my whole body working together to pedal the bicycle forward. Things happened fast, one of the women beconed to the other on my side to get away from the oncoming bike. On realising so, she made one of the most traumatising move that made everything go haywire.
It was too late, I could not avoid her. Appling the brakes was futile, and I had act quick. I jumped from the seat to try and kill the force as I knocked her over. it was so unfortunate for me when I realised dhe was pregtnant.
I got confused, in an unknown territory all alone. worse still, one boy took away my bike to prevent me from running away. I prayed that the Lord may be my refuge. I needed Him right there and then. I talked to somebody who offered his bike on condition that i get to push the injured woman to the nearest clinic, about a kilometre away.
I thank God because He showed Himself faithful the pregnancy was not threatened and though the woman complained of pains in the groin as a result of the impact, she received treatment and was discharged. she later gave birth to a bouncing baby boy.
