Hi All,

Today I received a spam email with a Yahoo address.

Yet my Security Setting is for: Friends Only.

I did double check my settings and reported the email.

I am very concerned about security.

Thank you in advance for any help you are able to give me.

It's good to report such glitches.  I have my email set for anyone to send.  I just reported an email where a female (looking for male on her profile) sent me "I am interested in getting to know you" email.  I also left a comment on her page....basically, saying I don't think so and take yourself to another site.  :o/

I reported another one today.

*+*+*+*+*+*+

Also. I have been receiving several Spam emails daily to my home email.

This never happened before the switch.

For three days I did not open my email and  only went on this site;

the Spam emails continued.

The staff  replied  it couldn't be happening from the B'Net site.

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

For the first time I am questioning

the security of this site.

Jalus, I clicked on your avatar and just tried to email you I am blocked from doing so. I have tried to email you in the past and I was also blocked the. I too got these emails and the users are now deleted. You can verify this by clicking on there names.

Did you get an email from Beliefnet, or are you stating you got an email from these users, at your personal email address?

I have tried to email you in the past and I was also blocked then.

And YOU shouldn't be blocked because

you are on my Friends Lists.

My concern is 'they' are NOT on my Friends Only lists

and were able to email me here at B'Net

REgarding the SPAM I am now receiving at my Home Email since the switch ~

B'net Staff sent an email saying:

"it wasn't caused by this site."

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

I am not convinced.

For the first time in 2 years I am  concerned

about the Security of this site.

I AM comforted that this Group is here and listening.

Have you by any chance posted on the Mormon boards, in the last few weeks?

I know that some times it "feels" like email sent to staff is simply going into a black hole, I honestly believe that it is not. I encourage you to continue to send complaints of this nature to the community box at Beliefnet, community@beliefnetstaff.com

Thank you for hanging in there with us.

No Dah. I usually only post on BEING OURSELF and in the COMMUNITY JOURNALS.

I have never felt that way. And still don't.

The Community Team has always been very responsive.

It may be something that they are either unaware of

and / or working on fixing.

The member I reported above got the boot.  Lots of members left comments very similar to mine before the axe came down.  :o)

I get SPAM that Norton throws into a folder everyday.  I've had the same email address for many years (probably around 10) so it not that unusual to get SPAM.  I also get SPAM in my Hotmail account.  DBSA FW has a Yahoo account and you wouldn't believe the SPAM that that account gets.

DBSA FW could have collected Billions of Dollars, if I would only contact those people who are just looking for people to give their money to, right?  I don't think so.

There was another spammer tonight, that got booted, Beliefnet is paying attention, as it did not take hours to get this user removed but only minutes.
