But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. Matthew 19: 16-26

LOVE pure and simple is found in giving selflessly, and that is our salvation. Jesus didn't say stop being a sinner and you'll have eternal life. He didn't say obey the Bible and you'll be saved. He didn't say join the correct Church and you'll find salvation. He said- obey the commandments(something everybody knows to do) and love your neighbor as you love yourself for that is the higher way.
You can pontificate, regurgitate, manipulate, and capitulate ANY human doctrine you want and attach "THE BIBLE SAYS SO" to it but it is completely worthless in the scheme of things.
One can not really love GOD and refuse the poor, needy, widowed and orphaned or refuse to visit the sick and imprisoned. Jesus didn't seek a name for himself, he didn't ask to have a following build him a mega church- he sought to glorify GOD by loving and teaching others to love GOD by loving others. He tried to demonstrate a better way to live in peace. For that reason he was hated by the religious. The religious despise those who won't DO IT their way. The religious still hate him today, yet they use portions of his prophetic words to condemn and cast aside anybody who doesn't accept things THEIR WAY. But it is still THEIR WAY and only THEIR WAY. Read the parable of the sheep and the goats in Matthew 25. THEIR WAY leads to destruction.

They are telling us lies to take us away from God.
