Good Evening: Ok we're all in this together, the goal is to lose weight. No matter what our starting point the disired weight is where we want to be. Rather it's 5 lbs or 50lbs we all struggle the same.  So how can we help each other?Getting to know each other could be a start. So here goes, I'm 53 with diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and coronary artery diease. I'm a choco-alcoholic and bing eating is very common in my life. So how do i lose weight? First I keep a food log. very important for any dieter. I plan my meals and only buy what's on my list, Most of the time, for one with a sweet tooth that's very hard. I use hypnosis, http://thinkandlose.com/ This really works as long as you follow the program. check out the site. And i try and follow a  Glycemic Index Diet Plan,  as long as my finances allow.  Food now adays to eat right cost more than filling my gas tank especially when your feeding 4 other adults and 2 grandchildren on a daily basis.  I 'm sure you all know about that.  See my Blog Article http://aireanna12.wordpress.com/.  I guess the bigest thing we can do for each other is support and prayer. The Lord does work in mysterious ways.  So lets get started.

Lord I ask that you bless all of our group members in their endeavor to lose the weight they seek.  To provide them with the ability to purchase the foods needed to eat healthy and keep your temple, their body in a healthy state. Help them to get over the obstacle that get in their way and the strength to say no to the temptations. These things we pray. In Jesus Name Amen. Blessing to all of you. Pattie

Thank you Pattie, I tried to get to this post last night and I lost my Internet so I couldn't. You are the first one to mention the financial aspect of the losing weight. I think that is a lot of my problem as well. It's so much cheaper to buy carbs, like macaroni and rice and stuff. However, I have found a way to make huge money, it may not happen overnight but it definately will happen and I am excited and my husband is too, and it takes a lot to get him excited, he is telling everyone!!!! lol, best of all, he now respects the time I spend working online and he is no longer saying, "Get a job!" lol! So . . .  it is going to take some time, but in 3 - 5 years I fully expect to be extremely wealthy, and traveling the world meeting my online friends and I sure hope I'm skinny by then! I would like to have a personal trainer and an indoor pool and gym. I think it is easier for rich people to lose weight. I am going to find out, first hand! lol. Thanks for your lovely prayer, we need all the prayer we can get! Especially me, if you've been reading the journal and posts you know about my setback and daughter coming again the next two weekends in a row. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  lol.

I'm interested in hearing about the online program that you starting I too need to supliment my husbands income. disibility doesn't pay much.  Just pray about your family comming and give up your concerns to God. then let it go, this is the hardest part. He'll take care of every thing.

I'm going to start a new group called The Purpose Driven Life. It'w will be daily devotions and verses with some learning homework so to speak. Based on the author Rick Warren's Book of the same name.  It will be our study guide. Give Me a day or two to get it started them look for it. Blessings Pattie

In response to the first post I will introduce myself to the group.  I'm Sonya, 53 years of age and a single parent of 3 with one living with me at home.   I need to loose between 24-54 pounds so quite naturally I'm looking at the 24 for the moment.  I'm mid-way in my second week of weight watchers and so far so good.

Over the weekend I made up this recipe for dinner. 2 pieces of unbreaded fish 4 ounces each, 1/2 cup quick cooking brown rice 1/4 cup tomato juice mixed with 1/2 cup water; lightly season the fish with salt, pepper and garlic powder.  Pour the rice in the bottom of a very small baking dish and place fish on top.  Top all with the tomato water mixture. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes and the water will be absorbed by the rice and the fish will be very moist, nice and flakey. Serves 2.

I had a side salad for a complete meal and 7 points on the WW plan.

Things are temporarily shut down in my company, (links above) due to the fact that they grew so fast they were trying to update the system and were down longer than usual to update it and people complained so now they are shut down pending the investigation but once it's up and running again you will know it passed both FBI and Attorney General's inspection. I'll let ya know.

Sonya, Welcome! Sounds like a great recipe for those who like fish, I hate it, but my husband swears by lemon pepper on fish. You might try to add a dash of lemon pepper. Also . . . your goal of 24 lbs, too steep. Start with 4 lbs. Make that your goal. When you lose that and have 20 to go, then make your goal 5 lbs. and then 5 again and 5 again, so it's small chunks, I think it will be easier that way. Actually . . . from the article I intend to share, the focus should not be on losing weight at all . . . but I will let you read it. I am going to post it in a new topic as it is a new topic, about the law of attraction.
