As I sit here, my hands on the key board, I really can't think if what I want to say. When I pulled up my blog page my mind went totally blank. What can I say? Almost every thing I have considered saying is an excuse as to why I have not followed Christ as I should been doing over the past 15 yrs. One thing I do know is that He is the reason I exist. Even through the years of family discouraging me to do what is right. and a nagging wife who has really been a henderance when it come to things of a spiritual nature. I don't know if she feels guilty or ashamed of what has happened. I will get in to that at a later date.
One book I have been reading lately is "Friend of God; The legacy 0f Abraham, Man of Faith". It is written by Ray C. Stedman. It tells how Abraham, aka Abram in the book of Genesis goes form idol worshiper, to the father of the Jewish nation. By stepping out in faith and following the still, small voice that encouraged him the take his family and leave the land of his father and travel to an unknown land.
If we stop and think about that, we will find that we live in an unknown land right here in America. We are walking in a lost land with our family and friends. When we are confronted by the wolves we tell lies to save our life. We compromise our morals and Christian beliefs to co-exist in a lost and violent world. The only way we can survive, I mean truly survive, is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. The man who was Hung on a tree for our sins.
Through this book I hope to learn to live and love the way Christ loved us. From one nail scared hand to the other. Amen!
