Forgetting what asking means among us and recognizing what our asking means to God -- this takes away our fear and teaches us more about the relationship between us and God.

This is the ultimate experience – something we could not appreciate if we didn't first lack it. This imperfect world where we find ourselves in need of God is the only way possible to experience the joy of attaining Him.  That is why life is imperfect, but the good news is that out of need comes satisfaction, out of fear comes hope, out of loneliness comes companionship, out of hurt comes help, and out of loss comes love.

We get the feeling that if we could lose our preconceived influences altogether and start over by facing reality in purity and simplicity, we would get to the point where we would feel comfortable deep inside our spirits.

The experience is not uncommon, but the recognition of it is a special favor.  If you were to recognize the presence of God each time the presence of God was presented to you, you would be in a constant state of communion with the Creator.

If you pray for something God wants, no one can get in the way of its happening. And if God doesn't want what you prayed for, He still accepts your prayer and will give you better gifts than you ever thought you wanted.

What would I have to gain by deceiving others in His word, knowing I would lose the only thing I really value if I did so? There is a point where we must venture beyond our trust in God and on into trust in those through whom God has entrusted His vision.

Like our worldly life, our life lived for God depends on our free will desire to order our attention. The concept is easy – our attention should be on God first and foremost.

“Are you just going to give up and lie down and let God walk all over you?”  “Yeah! It won't be easy, but it'll be worth it.” The mystic still must be judged on a human scale, even as little as that opinion means to him, and of course he will come up short on the world's approval. That too is part of God's plan.

Throw yourself wholeheartedly into your love of God. As He is the source of everything, once you have cast your lot with Him you will better receive His guidance and find He has provided a way for you to love others.

If you don't feel God's love or experience His presence with you, you may have given up precisely at the time you should have been asking for enlightenment. Fear of God needs to be turned into love of God.
