My exploration of belief systems started at age 12 when I became aware of the exclusivity and rigid doctrines of many Christian denominations. I retain belief in the teachings of Jesus and in his mission, but as an adult have had little involvement with organized religion. In my 20's I gave serious thought to whether the physical world is the sum of our existence, continued to explore but felt no urgency to call any belief my own.
I gradually became aware of an inner awareness of truth, that life came from a creative source and continued after physical death. My experiences as a mother, a psychotherapist, and frequent immersion in nature all served to bring me to a closer relationship and recognition of my spirit, of guidance, and of spiritual energies. In my 40's I took up a more active study of belief systems and spiritual awareness, culminating in awe-inspiring personal experiences and connection with a source of knowledge.
My posts will be a synthesis of my core beliefs, my personal experience, and the knowledge imparted to me. I am interested in: the spiritual journeys of others; the similarites of belief systems; mystical and gnostic experiences; the jouney of the soul before and after this lifetime; the universal truths of the human condition.
Throughout my journey I have had to struggle with a mind that wants physical proof, that is reality based, skeptical, continues to question the reports of others even while accepting my own extraordinary experience.
I am Mahaliah. I return often, for the elements to be found here and for the children.
"The supreme state of the soul is to obey even that against which the mind rebels, and
the lowest state of the mind is to revolt against that which the soul obeys." - Kahlil Gibran
