Hello There, Welcome! For the future go ahead and post on the board and I will do my best to answer any questions that you may have. Just to get you started, Im not sure what you have read about Taoism and such, but it is a religion, it has rules and beliefs that some follow very stricktly and others loosely. Taoism has many sects and practices but the basics are the same for almost all of them. As for Taoists the groups are usually split into three different categories: Taoists - Taoist, people who are initiated into a specific sect under a specific master (teacher) which are priests of all levels. Jushi - Disciples of Taoists that have not taken the full rights of initiation but are members of sects under the guidance of a teacher or sponsor if you will. They are allowed to practice certain rituals but not have received a full "lu" nor cannot offer ceremony without the guidance of a Taoist. Follower - A believer or better yet a person whom believes in the Taoist Pathenon - the faithful, not any different than a Christian, Muslim or any other belief. They follow and worship through the cannons and rights of Taoism, follows a particular sect but does not belong, sometimes they take on a role that will make them low level members and sometimes initiates with a title of "keeper". Many people are illusioned that Taoism is a hippy sect that anything and everything is allowed which is not the truth. It is a true well rounded religion that can guide and help you with your journey on earth as well the after life. Thank you for your interest Methods |

Hello! I recently read Tao Te Ching translation in Latvian and really like it. It describes way of life more better than other religious texts and suits me. I looking forward to Taoism as good life philosophy. Golden_man |
Hi, I was under the impression that Daoism was a beautiful philosophy, by which one should live their lives. One with nature a balance with heaven and earth. Live in the moment.
