About the subject of religion on online communities, I've seen people write, "God only knows." That's certainly applicable to me. I was raised staunchly Southern Baptist. I became heavily involved in the evangelical movement early in college, but toward the last, I flirted with the idea of converting to Judaism and got halfway through a conversion class. Now, this student of religion and history is majorly confused. I wonder if we can, in our finite minds, comprehend who and what God represents. I believe in a higher power. I cannot believe that our complex human bodies came about by chance. I mean, we still don't fully understand the brain. So it seems that there could be a Divine hand involved in the course of history. I'm attracted to Deism, the idea that God started the process, but has been hands off since then. Still, though, I don't believe we ever will receive proof one way or the other while in the land of the living.
