Name:Category: Support GroupStatus: MemberDescription: This group serves as an extension of the popular "Beyond Blue" blog (http://www.beliefnet.com/beyondblue/) and will provide an opportunity for readers to get to know each other better. My hope is that, like my blog, it will become a supportive network for those suffering from depression or any other mental illness.

Name:Status: MemberDescription: Let's admit it: We love to laugh! Whether it's along to a late-night Seinfeld rerun, a quirky Woody Allen flick, or the newest episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, our thirst for witty, self-deprecating, Jewish humor cannot be quenched! Let's use this group as a way to get a hit of it every day--even when there's nothing on the tube! Talk about your favorite episodes, share your latest finds, or analyze new plot twists--for this, ladies and gentlemen, is your virtual cawfee tawk.

Status: MemberDescription: One thing I've learned in our Spiritual Walking Group is that finding a network of people that support your efforts is a major factor in achieving your goals. With this idea in mind, Beliefnet and I are pleased to announce "America Walks with Kathy Smith," a 10-month journey that we hope will allow us to support each other in our quests to accomplish our individual aspirations, but also to work toward a common goal as a group: to be healthier in our bodies, minds, spirits, homes, schools, and planet. Every month, from now through October 4th, 2008 (the official date of the walk), I'll help us focus on different aspects of walking, personal growth, and spiritual connection. Within each month's theme, we'll also have some fun with a monthly contest and prize. As we proceed, we'll build a community of walkers, touching lives across the country with our anecdotes, our struggles, and our ever-growing support system. As we take this journey together, I encourage you to reach out to friends and family and invite them to participate. And as our group culminates with the Walk Across America on October 4th, we'll hand off a "virtual baton" from one walker to the next - symbolizing our personal goals (weight loss, lowering blood pressure, increasing energy), and at the same time, uniting in our mission to create a healthier America and a healthier world.

Name:Status: MemberDescription: "I love the idea of the Sacrificial Lamb. I love the idea that God says: Look, you cretins, there are certain results to the way we are, to selfishness, and there's a mortality as part of your very sinful nature, and, let's face it, you're not living a very good life, are you? There are consequences to actions. The point of the death of Christ is that Christ took on the sins of the world, so that what we put out did not come back to us, and that our sinful nature does not reap the obvious death. That's the point. It should keep us humbled… . It's not our own good works that get us through the gates of heaven." - Bono
