i woke up this morning to the sounds of the local radio station, z100, here in ny. besides the usual banter, the lead dj asked a question:

you're in a lifeboat with several other people. the boat is overloaded and will capsize soon killing everyone aboard unless you lighten the load by one person. one of the passengers is grievously injured and is certain to die soon, but is fully alert and aware of everything that is going on. could you throw that person overboard, knowing that that would save everyone else and that the person would know what you were doing while you were doing it?

personally, i dont know if i could do it. what do you think?

FIOS, the ultimate in home internet/tv/phone technology. Or, at least that's what Verizon wants you to think.

I ordered tv/internet from them and the installer came last wednesday. 2 technicians came to the house. one to run the line from the pole and the other to install the hardware.

Then the first problem popped up. Apparently, when the Verizon tech first installed the fiber optic line in the neighborhood, they forgot to splice the line, so no 'light' was coming through. The tech spoke to his boss and told the tech to reschedule with us and move on to the next customer. er... are you kidding me?!? Needless to say, I was P.O.'d
