John 12: 45- 48 from the ERRB. The ERRB is basically the KJV with additional translation notes in parentheses.
John 12:45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me. (ERRB)
Have you opened your heart to see Jesus? In seeing Jesus, do you see His Father?
John 12:46 I am come a light into the world (cosmos), that whosoever believeth on (trusteth in) me should not abide in darkness. (ERRB)
Are you seeing Jesus as the Source of your Enlightenment? Do you trust Him to lead you from the darkness of this world?
John 12:47 And if whenever any man (one) hear my words (rhema), and believe (trust) not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world (cosmos), but to save the world (cosmos). (ERRB)
I believe the reason this version adds ‘rhema’ to ‘words’ is to differentiate between places where ‘word’ is translated from ‘logos’. This allows comparing the usage to enhance the connotations. Even so, the ‘words’ of Jesus, whether translated from the Greek ‘logos’ or ‘rhema’ are still the words of truth, light, and salvation to eternal life. Though Jesus came to ‘save the world’, that doesn’t mean all the world will be saved, because all the world do not accept Him, as is seen in the next verse.
John 12:48 He that rejecteth (setteth) me (aside), and receiveth (taketh) not my words (rhema), hath one that judgeth him: the word (logos) that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last (final) day. (ERRB)
There is coming a day of judgment! Are you among those who have come to the Light of the world?
