This is the latest in a string of spontaneous inspirations I've received right before falling asleep. During meditation, I found myself on the shore of a large body of water. This place is a recurrent theme in my dreams, a very peaceful, loving, spiritual place. I'm new to the process of meditation but I hope this helps you as it has helped me. It goes a little like this:
Visualize yourself sitting on the shore or pier of a lake or ocean. Beside you is a pile of bricks. Each one is a negative feeling, experience, anxiety or stress accumulated during your day or week. They represent fear, worry, anxiety, resentment, anger, unforgiveness, anything weighing you down. You may or may not see those words written on them. On your other side is a bunch of balloons tethered together. Surround yourself with a field of healing light. As you imagine yourself releasing these "bricks" of negativity, exhale deeply...and watch them float into the water and disappear. Let go of the bothersome thoughts as they disappear, and focus your thought direction on the loving light surrounding you. Continue this releasing process until you feel at peace.
The healing waters of Spirit absorb all your worries and negative thoughts. It's similar to placing your burdens on God, giving them up to be blessed by the Universal force. Sometimes we have to release and let go, in order to really HEAR God speaking.
