Hello. Just wanted to say 'hi'.

I am a life and series long fan of Star Trek (watched it first at 8 years old in 1966). I agree with the 'WOW' on the new film. I find the changes in canon, NOT to coin a phrase 'fascinating'. In an interview with JJ Abrams he spoke of how the relationship between Uhura and Spoke was hinted at in TOS. I have been rewatching season one, and I can see what they saw. The scene in Man Trap where Uhura sort of 'flirts' with Spock is the best example. Who knows, with any of us, if we had chosen the 'right' door instead of the 'left' where that would have led us? This new Spock has more emotion crackling beneath the surface, and smoldering in those deep, dark eyes. Perhaps Mom had a little more influence in this timeline?

I am glad the movie has had such a grand reception and am thankful it has breathed new life into this wonderful galaxy of characters.

I wonder if the writers were trying to show a relationship between Uhura and Spock because in the OS neither of them had shown an attraction to anybody, other than when they were under the influence of an alien of some sort.

Hi Everyone,
I just saw the movie and WOW!!!! The only thing I didn't care very much for was the thing between Spock and Uhura kissing. Whats up with that? It kind of makes you wonder what happened to this relationship between this movie and the original series. Oh well, I guess thats what they make sequels for.

Star Trek Lives!

The battle cry of all Trekkies in the early and mid-70's is back. I'm so glad that it does, too.

Saw the film yesterday and I, too, was not disappointed. Character portrayal and writing are top-flight.

I bet Sulu never forgets to disengage external inertial dampers again!

I have only two nits to pick:

I REALLY wanted to see how they got the Enterprise from the ground into orbit.

The score... I wanted my "Enterprise fanfare!" Hearing it in the last minute of the film was a bummer.

Okay okay okay... maybe three nits... there were a couple plot moving devices used by the writers I didn't agree with.

But, overall, I'd pay money to go see it again... and probably will!

A well-done JJ Abrams sequel can not come fast enough!

Star Trek, indeed lives!
