Category: General DiscussionStatus: MemberDescription: Beliefnet Circle of Reason (BCOR) is a virtual "local circle" of The Circle of Reason (www.circleofreason.org) -- a fellowship of the religious and non-religious who believe communal commitment to reason will transform the world. We are a truly ecumenical site to find, recruit, converse with and encourage -- from all walks of life, all biologies, all beliefs, all societies -- those who are your own kinsmen and kinswomen - the reasoning kind!

Status: MemberDescription: Hello Beliefnet! I am his holiness, the Guru Pitka. I am the orphaned child of two American missionaries who after dying left me at a remote Indian village, where I was adopted by the great Guru Tugginmapuddah, and raised to travel the world, healing all emotional woes, free trapped souls from their internal torment, and offer my own brand of spiritual road map for those who seek it. And if YOU seek my spiritual road map this is the group for you! I encourage questions and discussions about loving, feeling, being, my best selling books ("If you're happy and you know it, think again," "Eight days to happiness in six weeks" and many others), playing the sitar, marshmallow yummies for your heart tummy or anything that moves you.

Name:Category: Support GroupStatus: MemberDescription: This group serves as an extension of the popular "Beyond Blue" blog (http://www.beliefnet.com/beyondblue/) and will provide an opportunity for readers to get to know each other better. My hope is that, like my blog, it will become a supportive network for those suffering from depression or any other mental illness.

With this idea in mind, Beliefnet and I are pleased to announce "America Walks with Kathy Smith," a 10-month journey that we hope will allow us to support each other in our quests to accomplish our individual aspirations, but also to work toward a common goal as a group: to be healthier in our bodies, minds, spirits, homes, schools, and planet. Every month, from now through October 4th, 2008 (the official date of the walk), I'll help us focus on different aspects of walking, personal growth, and spiritual connection. Within each month's theme, we'll also have some fun with a monthly contest and prize. As we proceed, we'll build a community of walkers, touching lives across the country with our anecdotes, our struggles, and our ever-growing support system. As we take this journey together, I encourage you to reach out to friends and family and invite them to participate. And as our group culminates with the Walk Across America on October 4th, we'll hand off a "virtual baton" from one walker to the next - symbolizing our personal goals (weight loss, lowering blood pressure, increasing energy), and at the same time, uniting in our mission to create a healthier America and a healthier world.

Name:Status: MemberDescription: This is a group where we can share our experiences of dance ministry, for as long as i can remember i have always wanted to be a praise dancer, its my way of ministering, some people sing, some people shout, i dance. I had a praise on the inside that couldnt be contained any longer and God put it in the forefront where i couldnt stand still any longer, i've just begun to minister and as i continue to do so i will share my experiences as i hope you will share here also. Maybe Gods calling someone to minister through dance right now and this group may help them see the their calling as well.

The book calls for a faith-based politics that can transform the nation, following the model of the civil rights and anti-slavery movements. What do you think? Can faith and politics mix for the good? Let's talk about "The Great Awakening" and the Jim Wallis message.
