Yes me too.
I have read John of the Cross's Dark Night of the Soul and dipped into his Ascent of Mount Carmel. I often find myself reading others views and interpretations of it.
It is also very easy to try and see where I am in the journey, "have I gone through the night of sense, or am I in the night of the soul" but when I do that something in me seems to pull me up short and tell me that is just pride and ego which is just what the dark nights are working to disolve.
Sometimes my awareness of the world around me seems to transend all separation and I am aware of the underlying unity but at other times it seems as if I am totally cut off from it and unable to form a single prayer. It is at those times that a recollection of the dark nights is so helpfull and teaches me to hang on in there in love and faith and God will work through it in me.
How about you?
