Hi, Just wanted to stop by and thank you for your warm welcome to Beliefnet. You are right, we are an uncommon couple, and we see that you are not too traditional as well. We are also writers and have been blessed to write an emotional recovery workbook for Christians that's transformed many lives. Look frorward to getting to know you better. Hello, Servetus! This is Heretic_for_Christ. Thank you for visiting my page and leaving the comment in response to my essay about The Devil. I found your comment quite interesting and original. I see that you are a writer. So am I. For the past 36 years I have earned my living as a professional medical writer. It pays the bills, and I am grateful to have a job when so many do not... but I'd like to retire in a couple of years (I am 65) and spend more time on the kinds of writing that are more fulfilling than writing up drug trials and reviews. My own work comes to mind because of your screen name -- Miguel Servetus was a physician as well as a theologian. However, I am guessing that you chose his name because he was at odds with both the Catholic and Protestant authorities. I respect your scholarly approach to the Bible even if we disagree (perhaps) about its importance in matters of faith. My experience has been that the great majority of people who claim to believe in God really believe primarily in the Bible, and whatever they say about God is just what they read. To me. that means their faith in God is secondary, because it is dependent on their primary faith in the authority of the Bible. Thank you again for your thoughtful comment. Heretic_for_Christ |
Hello Servetus! I just left my first post on this site. I agree with you when you say "Only you can take your own journey". I have struggled with faith for many years and I still have a long road ahead of me. Just know your words found me and I appreciate them. Have a wonderful day! Lynn
