    Description: Welcome! I have decided to create this group for people who are carers of those with ASD and also for those who have ASD. This group is non demoninational. All are welcome. As a mother of a child with ASD and having been married to a man who also has ASD I understand some of the challenges faced daily. Having had many discussion with those who have ASD of all levels has given me a greater understanding ASD from the 'sufferer's' perspective as well. (I do not like to use the word 'sufferer', as I have always considered my child's ASD to be a gift not a hinderance.). I have also worked with children with Special Needs for several years. As carers I believe that most of us have days where we want to throw our hands up in the air and just run, anywhere! And at those times it is always good to know that someone who understands is just a few keystrokes away... Those who have ASD are very welcome to join. The world can be so overwhelming, 'supersized' so to speak. And again, to have someone just a few key strokes away to 'chat' to may be of help. My son experiences all of these emotions, as does my ex-husband who also has ASD. It would also be extremely enlightening for those who are carers to hear from others with ASD as to their experiences and perceptions of the world, and daily life. I have said this group is non demoninational, however please feel free to discuss how your beliefs have given you strength in times of stress. All I ask of this group is that all who join treat other's within the group with respect. We may not always agree, but respect should always be used. And please keep offensive language to a minimum for the respect of all involved. Blessings to all, and I look forward to working together towards a brighter and more positive outlook on ASD.
