"Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must remain silent." - Ludwig Wittgenstein
I am looking for a connection to my ancestors... I was raised in
Christian traditions, but there is too much intolerance. So, I now
celebrate Yule, for example. I need rituals and ceremonies to share
with my children, but they need to be rooted in nature, yet also have
tradition. In a sense, I am making my own way.
experience with forms of "Craft", as some say. I am seeking the
revealing science. The question for me is, "What influence do subtle
forces/energies/vibrational patterns have?" Additionally, "What are the
most relevant/powerful/accessible of these?"
I practice divining and scrying...some would laugh at my wands, pendulums, crystals, etc... These tools themselves are meaningless. They are really a sort of biofeedback instrument to train ones awareness. Many of you here know and feel in this world as I do. We are a community, and knowledge exists within community. Those who don't believe these sensations are akin to the color blind as compared to the sighted--though unlike the color blind, most can train their sensitivity.
I also don't believe that our ideas of the world/universe/phenomena ARE those things. They are the way we understand, cope, and relate to those things. Mythology, metaphysics, science, mathematics...all these are modes of understanding...coping...relating to our world. No one can declare that they have the absolute truth. There are always other points of view. Absolutism leads to intolerance. (e.g. "I know God's will" or "I am in accord with natural law," etc.) Intolerance leads to execution and torture.
Maybe "belief" is an inaccurate word to describe me. Uncertainty is my home. I am adrift on a sea of uncertainty, forever rebuilding my ship as I sail.
