About Me:
"Do not judge the truth by what men say about it. Know the truth, and then judge men by what they say about it." --Ali ibn Abi Talib.
I want to make new friends with whom I can have challenging and open conversations about religion. I do not believe my religion is the only way, and I don't want to be told how to practice my religion. I am Shi'a because I believe in fighting against oppression, primarily, and a lot of other aspects of Shiism that I like. I do not think that Shi'a is better than Sunni or Sunni is better than Shi'a, we should all be united and not concentrate on the differences. Though I like ritual, I try to focus on the inner aspect of religion, not just the outer practice. I believe that everyone is a child of God and in many senses I am a Sufi.
I feel happy to have accepted your friend request. You seem to have interesting viewpoints and I think we have some views in common. I'd be more than happy if we can learn from one another inshallah.
May your friend Ann be safe, may she be happy, may she be healthy, may she be at ease.Blessed be.
