    Beach Fries

    Wednesday, April 21, 2010, 1:08 PM [General]

Hubby got the craving for beach fries, so we headed out yesterday afternoon for Rehoboth and stuffed ourselves (definately not on our "diet").  They were sooo good with malt vinegar.
It was relaxing sitting on the boardwalk listening to the surf and the gulls and watching the people go by.
    Beautiful !!!

Believe it or not, Spring is just around the corner.  In two weeks we will change our clocks. Yea ! ! !
Can see my daffodils now that the snow from the two blizzards we had here in N Delaware has melted.  They stems are up about 6".  Love it, love it !
Heard that more snow is expected Thursday, but I'm not going to believe it until I see it.  Sure hope that they are wrong !  Cabin fever has set in.  I want to be able to open the windows and have fresh air flow through, and be able to hear the birds that come to our back porch for food, peanuts and cranberries.
Hope and pray y'all have a peaceful night and a wonder-filled day tomorrow.
May God bless all who enter here.

    Merry Christmas to All

    Friday, December 25, 2009, 3:03 PM [General]

Hope and pray all are enjoying this day.

We are relaxing this afternoon (3 PM).  Had our get-to-gather with our family last night, and just quietly lazing around today.

Went for a ride through a nearby park this morning.  The snow on the ground made it just lovely.  Hope the rain holds off, but weather service predicts some for this evening and tonight.

Living in Delaware, we don't get much snow and this is really a treat having a white Christmas.

I pray that God will bless you and yours this holiday season and throughout the coming new year.

    Merry Christmas to all ! ! !

    A weekend in the mountains

    Monday, November 16, 2009, 2:50 PM [General]

This past weekend my hubby & I attended the 50th anniversary celebration of a lovely Christian couple we met years ago at church in Jacksonville Florida.

Back then we had no children, but they had two little ones.  Since Jerry was on-ship for months at a time, Linda had her hands full taking care of everything, including being involved at the church.

When she and I had choir practice, Dick, my hubby, would babysit for Dawn and David.  Got alot of experience being a surrogate Dad.  Came in handy later.

Our trip took us through some beautiful scenery.  Delaware to Maryland, a little bit of northern Virginia and on into W. Virginia for the night.  Then we back-tracked to Maryland for the ceremony and a delicious dinner in the church hall.

We saw mountains and fog-shrouded valleys, crossed the Potomic and the Shannandoah rivers and enjoyed views of horse farms and Autumn leaves.

We feel so blessed to be able to participate in such  a display of faithfulness between two such precious people reaffirming their marriage vows.

We look forward to our 50th anniversary in afew years and hope and pray that Jerry and Linda will be with us when WE say I DO again.

    Fall Has Definately Arrived

    Saturday, October 17, 2009, 7:36 PM [General]

Autumn has definately arrived here in Delaware.

It has been raining and the wind has been blowing like crazy for the past two days, and is to continue tomorrow, with the highs in the low 40's and the lows in the low 30's.  Brrrr!!!

Well, its been awhile since I last posted.  Didn's realize how long.

Summer sure went quickly.  Didn't do much traveling.  Just enjoyed staying home.  Hubby is now retired and we have really had a good time around the house.  Believe it or not, he is learning to cook.  Haven't gotten him interested in healthy food, tho.  Cookies, homemade bread, cobbler.  Oh well, I'll keep trying to convince him that bran is a good thing.

Have a new batch of kittens.  Mama, a feral,  not the same one as last year, had four little ones in our backyard.  Think there is a sign on our back fence saying "suckers inside".  So now with the colder weather we have them in the house.  We're trying to tame them so we can take them to a "No Kill" shelter so they can find them homes.

Anyone out there want a little orange kitty or two, or three or.......

Ah well,  they make every day an adventure.  Three of my girls from last year's brood have accepted a couple of the little ones and "play nice", but still have to keep an eye on Tiger.  She still hisses when one of them approaches her.

The Lord keeps blessing me and my family every day and I thank and praise Him.

It is well, it is well with my soul.

Greeting the dawn of a new month

    Friday, May 1, 2009, 5:45 AM [General]

Even though it is still dark out the birds are in full-voice, greeting the new day.

Am sitting here enjoying my first cup of coffee and reveling in the chorus. The cats are all excited this morning "must be a wild hair" or something.  They're bouncing around the house having a ball "a fur ball", wrestling and pouncing on each other.

A very relaxing way to start the new day and new month.

    Thank you Abba!!!

God is in His heaven, all's right with the world!!!

May God bless all who enter here.

The laundry room, it seems, has become my "prayer and meditation closet".  I guess because of the routineness of what I do there, I have no distractions and can be more open to the nudgings of the Holy Spirit.

While cleaning the dryer's lint filter (routine chore, until now), my eyes were opened to the fact that when I had put those pieces of clean clothing into the dryer I hadn't detected any lint on them at all.  But after they were tossed around and heat was applied . . . what wasn't apparent before was now right there before me, lots of lint.

The Holy Spirit spoke to me,  in my spirit, showing me that as we, God's children walk daily in the world, we gather "lint" that needs to be cleaned off of and out of ourselves to be truly pleasing in God's sight.

Our Lord desires that we, His Body, be Holy, as He is Holy.

In John 13, He shows his disciples, by His example (washing the road dust "lint" from His disciples' feet), how we should minister to one another and pray for one another, evidencing the Fruits of the Holy Spirit; (Paul's letter to the Galatians 5:22-25, with love, with joy, in peace, with patience, with kindness, with goodness, in faith, with gentleness (meekness/humility), with self-control), praying with/for our Brothers and Sisters , and for ourselves,  that they/we may be cleansed DAILY of every spot or wrinkle (lint) as they/we walk IN, but not OF the world.

In Jesus's prayer for His disciples, John 17:15-21, He spoke to His Father, saying "I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.

They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

Sanctify them by Your truth, Your word is truth

As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.

And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.

    I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word;

that they all may be one, as You Father are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me."

May God bless all who enter here.

Proverbs 3:6, instructs us "In all your ways (wherever you are, whatever you are doing) acknowledge Him, and He shall direct (make smooth or straight) your paths".

Abba (our Daddy) God is always eager to meet us wherever we are.  We just have to make a habit of being open (sensitive) to hear His "still, small voice", the gentle wind of His Spirit.

Abba knows that we often need winnowing (vigorous shaking) to remove the chaff from our lives (attitudes, bad habits, lack of faith, or anything that is displeasing , or does not give the glory to Him) and preserve (keep by the power of God) the heart (the useful portion) of the grain (our eternal souls).

So that at His Coming Again, He may gather (call unto Himself) our sancitified (set apart) souls to be with Him throughout eternity.

Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus!!!

May Abba bless all who enter here.

I am sitting here this morning watching the transformation of the pear trees in my back yard, as the wind is bringing down "flurries" of white petals, making me think of the snow flurries I enjoyed watching last winter.

I can almost "see" the new, green leaves popping out.

The trees are going "from glory to glory" before my eyes.

It makes me think , and rejoice, that in my "walk of faith", as Paul has written in II Cor. 3:18, and given us the assurance,  the Lord, working through His Holy Spirit (wind), reveals to us, as in a mirror, that we, too, are being (active tense) transformed into His likeness. From glory to glory!!!

May God bless all who enter here.

Father God said to Solomon in IIChron. 7:14, "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land " . . . And we are told in James 4:10,  "Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up " . . . And in Solomon's prayer at the Temple Dedication, IIChron. 6:29-31, he (Solomon) said:  "Whatever prayer, whatever supplication is made by anyone, or by ALL Your people Israel [see Romans 2:29 below], when each one knows his own burden and his own grief, and spreads out his hands to this temple [see ICor 3:16 below]: then hear from heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive, and give everyone according to all his ways, whose heart You know {for You alone know the hearts of the sons of men}, that they may fear You, to walk in Your ways as long as they live in the land which You gave to our fathers "  .  .  .  [ ROMANS 2:29] -  "but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God "  [ ICOR . 3:16] -  "do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? "  .  .  .  COME ALL YOU PEOPLE  who are called by HIS NAME and  let us life up our voices in humble prayer for our "land which God gave to our fathers" . . . let us ask for HIS WISDOM for our leaders, and for HIS HEALING of the divisiveness spreading across our nation . . . for we are "ONE NATION, UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL" . . . May God bless ALL who enter here . . . Annita aka safehaven
