I see that we are suddenly down to 5 (or is it 4? - I only see 4 pictures) members. I am curious. This truly seems like a new beginning. Easter is a time of resurrection and new beginnings--how appropriate!

This Easter, an acquaintance of mine was received into the church. I don't see him all that often and would not have known except that since around Christmas, he has been "reporting in" everytime he saw me--First that he was in RCIA...that he would be coming into the church at Easter...that he was almost finished with his classes...that he was looking forward to the Easter Vigil... Since we belong to different parishes, I was not there to watch as he received his sacraments. I thought of him and prayed for him as I witnessed the baptisms, confirmations and first communions in my own church. When I saw him shortly after Easter he was beaming and reported proudly that he is now in full communion with the Catholic church. I share this story because life is funny, we never know exactly how our lives will effect each others. I don't know what it is about my life that made him want to "report in" and share his journey with me. And I'm sure that he doesn't realize that in doing so he has caused me to think about my own faith and feel a little bit richer in it because of his happiness. That is what we are here for--to grow together during the journey.

Just as Diane recently became the new owner of this group, I recently became the new member. And apparently "inactive" is the right word to discribe this group. I challenge the other 61 of you out there to SAY SOMETHING...let's get some discussion going. I've been a Catholic since birth. But as I grew up, I know that at some point it became a choice. Each one of us experiences our relationship with God differently. We have a lot to share. If you grew up in the church, what are your memories, your experiencies? If you came later, what drew you? What is meaningful to you? No matter what your faith (or mine) we can help each other grow.

I would like to invite all to visit the Roman Catholic Group. I recently became the new Owner of this Group. It has been inactive for a long time and I would like to get it started again and have members participate in the group. Check it out and if you decide to join let me know. I would love to have new members.
