A leader is the servant of the people. To serve as a leader requires great skill and humility. The leader must receive information and knowledge from many different sources. Streams of knowledge will flow from every corner of the world.
The leader must in turn share this knowledge with the people in words and ways they can relate to and understand. Unless this can be done the greatest knowledge will be rejected or lost. To use the proper words for the people takes great skill. To guide and not direct is an art that takes the greatest humility. The people must be able to think that they came to their decision on their own. They must be able to feel they freely chose the path they walk.
To lead without directing and to guide without doing harm to the people is a great task. Few are capable of being such a servant leader. Yet the whole world will delight and exalt such a person. They will listen and follow instruction. Because such a servant leader does not impose their will on the people, they will work together for the good of all.
The world will grow and prosper in a harmonious and peaceful way when the leaders are also servants to the people.
It is the unity and harmony of the people that makes a leader great. When there is this unity and harmony few rules or directions are needed.
There are three things that are precious to such a leader. The first is gentleness, the second is economy, and the third is serving all the people.
Because of gentleness and compassion a leader can be fearless and bold. Having the courage to do what is right for all the people is a great trait. Because of economy and living within their means, they can be most liberal in helping and caring for those who are in need.
Because they serve the people, true leaders will work for the good of all. Such a leader will not be looking for self gain and power.
When one has compassion and love for the people they will be victorious in times of peace and times of war. The people will prosper and all will strive to live in harmony and peace.
