God is One. This means He is everything and Everyone, the seen and the unseen. This makes each of us a part of The One, but even though we are one with the all -- we are not the whole. A single person cannot be closer to God than another for he is within and without each of us.
It is written that we are children of the Spirit and the Earth -- parts of the One. If we are their children then God would be our Father, Grandfather, or Grandparent for The One is the creator of all. In scripture all of God's creations are called His Children -- I like to think that we are.
To me God's love is evident for we are all here today. He continues to give us freewill and the ability to choose our way. In a way our brain is like a RAM unit on a computer. The mind is far more but the brain does give us access.
The Mind has been called the first created, but I think the Spirit was First. Through the Spirit and the Mind came the Cosmos then mankind. To try to explain or justify our place in the world order, mankind has invented many gods.
Many religions came about to help humanity learn and grow. But like many things that we touch -- they became corrupted. Yes, in the names of our religions we go to war and do great harm. But this is not the way it should be.
Each religion was to be loving, to help the people understand in ways that they could relate to. They were to help prepare us to take our places in the universe. To teach, care for, and unite all of humanity was to be their task. So far they have all missed the mark.
