We just got back from a trip to Florida, which was fun, relaxing, exactly what a vacation should be.  On our way home, we got into really slow traffic around Gainesville, which made us a little, well, maybe more than a little, growly.  However, we discovered the reason in the southbound lane.  There had been a major traffic accident, involving two semis and two cars.  One of the semi cabs was burnt to near nothingness.  A few miles further on, we came to another slowdown.  Again, in the southbound lane, two semis, a couple cars, one of the semi cabs again burnt to nothingness.  As we went by this site, the EMTs were lifting a body bag over the rail to a stretcher.  It was a sobering sight.  Somebody was going to be getting the nightmare kind of phone call, and we were moaning about the traffic.  We discovered later someone had died in the first accident as well.  

It is a shame that so much of what we have in life is appreciated only when we lose it and that so much of what bugs us is really so petty in the long run.  My prayers go out to the families of those killed and hurt.
