    There is a reference to a PROVERB in I SAMUEL Chapter 24 . . .

    I Samuel 24:13 ~ AMPLIFIED BIBLE

"As the proverb of the ancients says, Out of the wicked comes forth wickedness; but my hand shall not be against you."

This Scripture is in relation to the story of Saul and David. As you read Chapter 24 of I Samuel, you come to learn that Saul was ruthlessly hunting David to take his life. David's men thought that David should kill Saul because they believed that God had delivered Saul over to him. However, David knew of no such command from God to take the kingdom by force, and he was content to await God's time and method.

Even when David had cut off a corner of the king's robe (Saul), just to show the king that he had been close enough to him to have killed him in his sleep, his conscience bothered him. He did not take lightly the fact that Saul had been ANNOINTED as Israel's King.

God must remove this king; David was to respect him until the Lord removed him.

David told the king (Saul) that the slanderous reports to which he had listened to were untrue. That very day, David could have taken Saul's life, but he did not because Saul was the LORD'S ANOINTED. The portion of the robe in David's hand was evidence of his kindness.

A wicked man might want to avenge himself, but David had no such desire. David asked Saul why he should conduct such a relentless campaign against one who was as harmless and insignificant as a dead dog and a flea. ~ SEE I Samuel 24:14

Temporarily moved to tears by David's words, Saul acknowledged the righteousness of David's behavior and his own wickedness. Surprisingly, he admitted that David would one day be king in Israel. But, we learn that Saul soon forgot David's kindness.

In David's words to Saul, he twice called on the LORD to act as Judge. He was content to leave his case in the hands of God rather than do what might seem right to the natural man.

May God enable us to be as trustingly calm in the face of adversity, and to maintain The FAITH of the ANCIENTS.

    BE BLESSED.

    The FAITH of the ANCIENTS

       Ancient Faith Bible

As we move along our life paths from day to day, moment to moment, and second to second ~ May WE remember the FAITH of the ANCIENTS.

May we take a portion of their FAITH with us for the Journey we tread. May we turn from the view of the lost and forsaken and look to the hills from which our help comes.

Where we find walls unshakable, may we remember the walls of Jericho.

As we seek for the wine of TRUTH, may we remember the water at the wedding in Cana.

As the echo of the ANCIENTS resounds within our being ~ let us lay hold of the FAITH of the CENTURION. For lo, we are not worthy, but may He speak the word only, that WE shall all be HEALED.

    Blessings in Abundance ~

    THE DOVE REPORT

    Thursday, June 5, 2008, 7:37 PM [General]

    DECEMBER 24th, 2010

It is with great grace that we are blessed with another day of LIFE this day. We have the opportunity today to GIVE, to SHARE, to GROW, to LOVE, to LEARN.

We choose this day to call upon the BLESSINGS and treasured WISDOM that is readily gained and fully available to each of us.

We choose this day to receive INSPIRATION, and to inspire others in their unselfish endeavors in life.

We chose this day to be an ENCOURAGEMENT, and look for ways in which we can encourage those who so need us this day.

In all that we find interesting this day, let us remember that this day can be the start of a new glorious way of living, a new way of being, a new thought process can now begin to take shape and form a pathway to a better way of being for each of us.

The abundant life is ours because God said so. And, I believe Him.

John 10:10 ~ King James Version (KJV)

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

    BIBLE SCRIPTURES FOR TODAY:

    1. 2 Corinthians 4:17 ~ AMPLIFIED BIBLE
For our light, momentary affliction (this slight distress of the passing hour) is ever more and more abundantly preparing and producing and achieving for us an everlasting weight of glory [beyond all measure, excessively surpassing all comparisons and all calculations, a vast and transcendent glory and blessedness never to cease!],

    2. 2 Corinthians 7:15 ~ AMPLIFIED BIBLE
And his heart goes out to you more abundantly than ever as he recalls the submission [to his guidance] that all of you had, and the reverence and anxiety [to meet all requirements] with which you accepted and welcomed him.

    3. 2 Corinthians 8:9 ~ AMPLIFIED BIBLE
For you are becoming progressively acquainted with and recognizing more strongly and clearly the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ (His kindness, His gracious generosity, His undeserved favor and spiritual blessing), [in] that though He was [so very] rich, yet for your sakes He became [so very] poor, in order that by His poverty you might become enriched (abundantly supplied).

    4. 1 Thessalonians 4:1 ~ AMPLIFIED BIBLE

FURTHERMORE, [Marvin Vincent, Word Studies.] BRETHREN, we beg and admonish you in [virtue of our union with] the Lord Jesus, that [you follow the instructions which] you learned from us about how you ought to walk so as to please and gratify God, as indeed you are doing, [and] that you do so even more and more abundantly [attaining yet greater perfection in living this life].
