About Me
I started life in Boulder, Colorado. Love Colorado. My family left at 3 for the midwest. We lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Fargo, ND, Brandon, Florida, Denver, Co (Westminster, Thornton, Littleton and Highlands Ranch), Knoxville, TN and currently Orlando. I love to do road trips, but haven't in a while. I satisfy myself with the occasional trip to Ft. Lauderdale or Savannah. I became Buddhist in 1987, and contrary to what many believe, we don't shave our heads. ;P I didn't become a vegetarian then, but I did give up red meat. Since I never liked it much growing up I figured the clear-cutting in Brazil, for cattle grazing, was enough for me to take a stand.
I was a graphic designer, marketing coordinator, freelance MacTemp, and all around disgruntled employee. Alas, I was not meant to be an employee, but an entrepreneur.
I married later (32) and had my son in 1998. He was born 5.5 weeks premature at 3.5 pounds. I learned to trust my own senses and not "authority", which helped me when my daughter was born in 2001, 8 weeks early at 1 pound 12 ounces.
Since moving to Orlando (aka Mickeyville - to me)I have pursued a career as an artist, mostly as a muralist. I have a few web sites, http://www.orlandomurals.com , http://www.harlequinart.com , http://www.apolkadotsky.com
2007 has brought many changes, mainly divorce. We are both happier for the change, so I guess there is a silver lining in the black cloud. I am growing spiritually at lightning speed, and would love to share insights and interests with other like-minded people. I have studied astrology for 30 years, and am a pretty good astrologist. I started meditating this year, which compliments my Buddhist practice really well. I love movies and music, and I think I will take up the flute soon. It's a good thing, I bought on 20 years ago. I KNEW I would learn eventually...
I did become a vegetarian last year, to help detox my body and increase my intuitive abilities – it works. I am an Angel Therapy® Practitioner trained by Doreen Virtue, and a Reiki II practitioner. I look forward to many new experiences, and meeting fascinating people.
