About Me
I'm a male, from Knoxville, TN, late 30's. Happily married to a wonderful woman from New Zealand whom I met on the internet. :)
My activities and interests include:
In addition to the above, I am also a musician in my own right, under the name of Synthetik FM. I currently have an album up on iTunes called "e=mc2" which features collaborations between myself, and 13 other vocalists from around the world. The style is heavily influenced by 80's synthpop and new wave. My website is http://www.synthetikfm.com/ and my label website is http://www.ninthwaverecords.com/
I am also active in the electronic undergound synthpop scene, promoting modern synthpop music and bands through my radio station, Synthpopalooza Radio (URL coming soon).
I can sometimes be seen hanging out at The Electrogarden Network, http://www.electrogarden.com ... an electronic music site dedicated to promoting synthpop and other alternative electronic music. I am also a regular on Lady Springwolf's Pagan's Path at http://www.paganspath.com ... this is an educational site which covers not only paganism but also new age and spiritual healing, and also promotes the acceptance and tolerance of all beliefs and religions.
Also, my wife and I have a business called Gifts from Loving Hands, which sells home decor, memorabilia, and other nice gifts. You are welcome to have a look at http://www.giftsfromlovinghands.com/
Well, I guess the real reason I am here, is I am just looking for a site to post up my own personal musings on religion, spirituality, and my own experiences in life, and maybe to meet some like-minded individuals.
My spirituality is still a work in progress. I was exposed to the Baptist faith at age 6 but I questioned the beliefs in my mind, finding it impossible to reconcile a loving God with one who was jealous and vengeful. I eventually rejected the beliefs of hellfire and damnation, and came to realise that there is no "one true way" that is right for everyone. Maybe all faiths are but a piece to the puzzle, and we must understand how the pieces fit together in order to complete the picture.
I would say that currently, I would call myself a bit of a pantheist. I see the presence of God/Goddess in everything that is in nature.
I am a rational Christian in that I see Jesus as an exemplary human being who tried to teach humanity a better way to live. I see the stories of his birth, death, and resurrection as mythology but realise that even mythology still has value.
I am a pagan, in the sense that I honour the spirit of the Earth Mother, and try my best to respect Her and those who live upon Her.
Perhaps it is best said that I believe in a Trinity, the Male and Female aspect of God as personified in the Christian and Earth-centered teachings, with humanity being the third part of the Trinity. We are all children of the God and Goddess, and it is through us that the world can be changed for the better if we so choose.
