About Me
Hello,
I'm TheAmberRose....I've used this as my screename for a reason. It's the color of the rose on my engagement ring. I've never been so happy in my life, before now.
Life is good. I've been through a lot of crazy stuff during my short years here on Earth. For how long those bad times seemed to last, my years have been flying by! It's amazing, really: Life...we're so lucky. So many people take it for granted. I should know. I've dealt with many losses for someone my age....but it just makes me realize how precious of a gift God has given us. I've also been through other situations I prefer not to discuss. However, I'm willing to discuss them if someone else would like help. I love to help people as to the best of my abillity. People have always told me that I get rid of my pain by helping to rid of anothers. Another way I release my emotions is through my poetry, and I'm currently working on getting more of my work published. I have had my poem "Dream" published twice. One currently in print.
I live my life with as much respect for the world as I can muster. I am considered an "eco-hippie" by numerous peers...but can never really be labled by them. I am someone who wishes to walk through cultural boundaries, and learn to broaden my knowledge of the world around me. My fiance chuckles at me when I go to a Chinese Resteraunt that I'm a regular at. This is partially due to the fact I am completely bent on conforming to the customs of that culture to show respect, that I can sometimes be seen as ridiculous to the others around me. haha However, the other factor would be the fact that I leave five chocolates with the tip every time I eat there. I refuse to go there without an offering of some form of candy for every person working. I keep a bag of sixlets in the glove compartment of his car for this. I have to admit that it is out of the ordinary, but it's my way of showing my thanks to them for invinting me into their home. For them, it really is quite a bit like their home.
Currently I am baptised as a Lutheran and have been converting to Catholicism now for awhile. I believe that by finding God through here and my new religion...I am whole.
I still have quite a bit to learn about the world...I don't believe that people try hard enough today to understand the world around them, and the mosaic of people who live in it. People like my mother, who has been with her partner for 8 years. People like my little cousin who is Mayan. People who look at my friend John differently because he is Jewish and embraces his religion. People who look at someone like they are a book, like they know everything about this person that they have just met. People are too comlex to be labled and put into bunches. Judged by one mere aspect of their personality or appearance. I just want people to accept all of the world's variety. Together, we are one people...one family. So, why do we hate our brothers and sisters because they are not the public's definition of normal? I believe that one person can change another, and in turn, cause a chain reaction...Maybe one day...this will come. I am praying that it does.
We are the future of tomorrow...God is waiting.
