About Me
I am an analytical thinker, which means, one Bible verse is not going to convince me.1 John 5:20 tells us that Jesus will give us the intellectual capacity to understand Scripture.John 14:26 helps us to appreciate that the holy spirit will help us to understand God’s Word. Therefore, contending with religious leaders who depended on the word “mystery” for there inability to explain things that were close to my heart, did not set well with me. Because an accurate understanding of Scripture does not allow for such a view: “God is not a God of confusion.”---1 Corinthians 14:33, RS.
In my secular life, I would become a correction officer at a maximum-security prison, while going to college to get my bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, majoring in corrections.I took advantage of many opportunities to share a scriptural thought with the inmates. However, it would be those very inmates, having24/7 to do Biblical research, who would send me on yet another path of answers. One day they had challenged, not my beliefs, but my Bible of choice as I believed most reflected the original. They took me to dozens of Scriptures in their King James Version and challenged me to explain the rendering for these verses (e.g. Acts 20:28; Rom 9:5; 1 Timothy 3:16 and 1 John 5:7).I was lost, hurt and very distraught.I went home to pray for hours. In my prayer, I had vowed that I would study this through.
From 1997 to the present, I have been studying the Bible itself, history of Christianity and Judaism, both Biblical languages Hebrew and Greek, textual criticism, how we got the Bible and so many other related areas.I mainly used the KJV, ASV, RSV, NRSV, NASB, ESV, HCSB, NWT and many others as I worked my way through many grammar books.I must say, I have formed, what I believe to be the eight best English Bible translations.I have to acknowledge my indebtedness to all the many Bible versions that I have used in studying the truth of the Word of God. However, all these translations, even down to the very latest, have their defects. There are inconsistencies or unsatisfactory renderings, which are infected with sectarian traditions or worldly philosophies and hence are not in full harmony with the sacred truths that God has recorded in his Word.

Well our churches are sometimes confused with each others. We have some beliefs in common. I have enjoyed your insight on Bible verse. Also the NASB is one of my favorite translations also. Samuel
