About Me
I am a Benedictine hermit in the Episcopal tradition, with vows held by the Bishop of New York, and a vocational celibate. I am very much interested in getting to know others who are living a contemplative lifestyle. The current rise in interest in the eremitical life is fascinating to me, and it would be an honor and a privilege to get to know people who are spurring this resurgence in a vocation which is as old as the very origins of the Religious Life of all monastics. My interest is not just in Christian ascetics, but ascetics of other traditions as well, including Buddhist and American Indian. For more information than you probably want to know about me, my spiritual autobiography (just over ten years old) is published online at http://www.fessendenhouse.org/spiritual_autobiography_1.htm . Information about the religious house where I live and work is available at www.fessendenhouse.org .
