I quit smoking in 1980.  I gained a lot of weight and have been trying to lose it and get healthy since.  I just turned fifty-five and again am trying to get a program going.  I like what I have read on Kathy Smiths forum about metabolism.  I swear when I quit smoking, my already slow metabolism quit!  It as been a long 27 years.  I am now going to have a lap band surgery and need to get to exercising for sure with it.  A support group would be awesome and since I just recently moved to this area, I don’t know anyone here. 

Most of what I love to do or still want to do are physical things.  Skydiving, skiing, playing softball and volleyball.  I love to travel, sightsee, and visit museums and churches.  I love to read, quilt, knit, play pool and write.  I work on the computer a lot.  I love spending time with friends and family.  I love working with my prison inmates.  I like to do volunteer work as well.  Life is short….I want to enjoy it as much as possible!!!  Jeanne
