About Me
I am 28 years old originally from San Diego, CA now living in Austin, TX. I am Mexican American, married, and pregnant with my first child. I am a fortune baby, a member of SGI-USA and I practice Nichiren Buddhism. I joined this site because I saw Herbie Hancock's interview on here and I thought it was amazing! I'm hoping to meet and inspire others either interested in practicing buddhism or alreading practicing. I am into poetry, music, and hope to write a book someday. FortuneBaby you are a joy and a light! You posted on May 5, my 54th birthday, LOL I was born in 54 so it was a sort of Golden Birthday, about learning that your own baby is a girl! How sweet. My only child, also a FortuneBaby will be 21 this September, a beautiful young woman. I could not get pregnant until I had chanted enough to be willing to raise a son! I wanted a daughter so much. One of my pioneer WD Leaders told me when I did get pregnant, "Some people think FortuneBaby means the child comes with keys to a fancy car or something. In reality having a FortuneBaby means you have the fortune to stay in front of the Gohonzon chanting daimoku more than ever!"
