About Me
Hello! I am Karen Allanach, Associate Director for the Humane Society of the United States Animals & Religion department. HSUS Animals & Religion is an interfaith effort that engages religious people and institutions on an array of critical animal protection issues. The HSUS' mission to protect animals is consistent with the collectively held religious value of caring for creation and the principles of mercy and compassion. All of the world's major religions encourage ethical behavior towards others, especially those who suffer and are powerless, and all animals should be the subjects of this ethical consideration, too.
I've joined this community to meet people who are inspired by their faith to take action for animals, and to provide information to people who would like to learn more about how they can make a difference for animals through their religious communities or through individual choices.
