About Me
Religion? None. Still searching for one. Interested in all religions and faiths. I feel much closer to the sacred when I'm in the mountains or woods than I do in any church. I dislike dogmatic and extreme fundamentalist Christianity and prefer the writings of Christian mystics. I find much to admire in the writings of the "Concord Transcendentalists" Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau. Though not strictly a follower of any of them, I find myself drawn to certain beliefs and practices in Christianity,Hinduism,Buddhism,Taoism, and Native American spirituality.
Poetry and music have both enriched my spiritual journey. The works of William Wordsworth, William Blake, Rumi, Gerard Manley Hopkins,Rabindranath Tagore, Emily Dickinson, and Walt Whitman have all brought me enlightenment and joy in my search for spiritual growth and maturity. The music of Bach, Beethoven,The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, and John Coltrane has also helped me in the same way as the words of the great poets.
