About Me
Hello,
My name is Gayle and I'm trying to learn more about spiritual development. A friend gave me a bible that is in chronological order and I started reading it on 1/1/08. I like the fact that it is put in a timeline order. As I read it I have questions and am hoping to understand how the bible is translated and feel it is my duty to study the book myself and to make up my own mind about how to translate it. Since I have this duty, I need to be aware of the process and I want to be open to other translations beside my own. When I read this bible I compare it to the NIV study bible that I also have. They are very similar but not exactly the same. The study bible also tries to put the text into a contemporary context which is helpful. I just want more information about religions and how they are translated to fit into today's world. Sometimes when I watch the news it seems like radical religion is the root of all evil. I'm sure that is not the case and I want other viewpoints.
