As moderator of the group, "Being Okay In Your Own Skin" I can remember when I began it about a year ago. I created it in the hope that members could come here, speak openly and receive the support and comfort they need.
It is not a prayer group, although we do have a prayer chain going most days. I feel all of us need some kind of encouragement at certain times of our lives, and this group is (in my opinion) a wonderful example of how we express ourselves.
If you join, I keep members on for at least two months, but because of the size of the group, I sometimes have to delete people that join but do not show an interest, not for any reason except I want members to be active, not because of who you are.
I appreciate my group members so very much, and I want all of you to feel at home here. Denise
I am a very spiritual and upbeat person, most of the time. I'm Bipolar and also suffer from Major Recurring Depression; therefore, I fall into that "deep dark pit" on a yearly basis. Bnet has become like a home for me. I've been a member for over 3 years now and am the moderator of "Being Okay In Your Own Skin", which is on it's 3rd run, and I'm very proud of that group. It is very open, supportive and non-judmental. I live in the tiny state of Rhode Island, but love the fact that I'm only 45 minutes away from the beaches and only a 90-minute drive to the mountains, so I have the best of both worlds. I am married, have two adult daughters and two wonderful granddaughters, Celia & Haylee, 7 and 2. I'm also a Recovering Alcholic with almost 14 years sober, of which I am very proud of - one day at a time. I love this site and have had wonderrful experiences and made many friends since I've joined and hope that continues for a very long time. D
