I am 39 years old, female, married to the most wonderful man in the world. Our only child is a 13 year old cat we adopted from the Humane Society when she was a kitten. We live in the beautiful Colorado Rocky Mountains. I am Irish American even for having mostly English blood, own a Subaru, and am a registered Democrat though my sentiments run more towards the Green.

I was brought up Christian in a way that I was a sinner and even worse so for being female. I left the religion of my upbringing and briefly explored women's spirituality which healed a bit but not before great damage was done to my self esteem by the twisted up version of Christianity I was raised with. I hated being female so much, because of that, I developed a tumor the size of a small cantaloupe in my womb and had to have a hysterectomy. My husband is Christian and is teaching me that is not what the religion is about but now I've found my path and it is different.

My interests include ancient cultures (the Greeks, Egyptians, Babylonians and Persians) and religions. A eureka moment led me to the spiritual path of my heart, an old mysticism which combines both and stresses learning. I also am an aspiring writer, an artist who does pencil sketches and works with soft pastels when I'm serious, a computer nerd, a bookworm, and an aspiring Irish musician--learning the bodhran or Irish drum--and I play once in a blue moon in an Irish band.

I came to Belief Net because I felt I had a lot to offer. I have a lot of uncommon experiences in a lot of things and have been off the deep end in a lot more. But, after posting here, making a fool out of myself, and, hopefully, giving some good advice, I realized I am here to learn.
