About Me
Hi! Well I guess this is where I tell you a little bit about me.
I have just turned 50 but I have a youthful spirit. I have been a member of beliefnet for a while now but have been so busy reading alot of self-help and positive inspirational articles that I didn't get to finishing my profile. I enjoy doing alot of things.Spending time with my family, reading
walking, also nature walks, exercising, tai chi, watching movies, both at home and sometimes at the theater, I love animals, both domestic and wild animals. I love camping, fishing, hiking, enjoying the beauty of the world and the stars, planets and watching meteor showers. Although I have yet to learn the constellations but I am thinking of joining an astronomy club. I like to meet new & good people. I like to brighten a persons day with a smile and a good day. Often if a person is grumpy, let's say at a store I go to, I often am able to think of something to say to help them feel better. A kind word, a smile and telling them in a way how I appreciate their service. Often when a store clerk is out of sorts it is because of difficult customers who were there before me, and I like to let them know not everyone is like that or unappreciative. It usually works and they feel better again. Sometimes I even tell them not to let the grumps of the world get to them because alot of people do appreciate their service. I try to be there for someone who needs someone to lean on or a listening ear. Here is a little something I found on the web some years ago. It has no title or author.
" Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around."
That really struck a chord with me because I have always been that type of person since I was a little girl. I always wanted to see people happy and make them smile. Even when I was young I would help out whenever I could in whatever way was needed. We all need a little extra encouragement, kind words, smiles or a compliment in our lives. I am just naturally able to do that but even so I notice alot more people are becoming like that in our world now, we are evolving into a more outwardly caring and thoughful world of people. It is so great to see this and it gives me faith that our world is a better place for us all, but we are still evolving so there is going to be even more evidence of this in the future. A positive attitude that brushes off the negative and learns to not let it touch us is what we all need in our lives. Making new friends, or simply passing it on along the way of our lives, increases all the positive and good in the world. Take care and all the best in the new year to come!
