About Me
Carpe Diem, life is great.
Formerly when I was in better health I was active in many clubs and groups, those were years of the nomadic life. From work to home, pack a bag, and off to this seminar or that lesson. But since about seven years I have a more sedentary life form. My nomads tent is folded and ready to use but perhaps the moths have gotten to it, I have not inspected it in a long time. My nomadic times were fraught with both good and bad, like the life of seamen in the times of sailing ships. I learned a lot about myself and about others. Those were experimental years, between my "Trip to the Stars" (OBE) and about the year 2000. In these approximately forty years I was seeking answers and trying to prepare myself for the return trip to the stars, well that is an over simplification; I took a few diversionary paths, got side tracked, even did a bit of back sliding. I took part in many so called personal awareness or mind expansion groups, practicing here and there a meditation technique or investigating the various beliefs. I always had a feeling of "something missing". Mostly they were simply "AHA!" techniques and not meditation, and for the other part were simply replacing one set of dogma and ritual with another dogma and ritual. I wanted answers to questions and not someone's theory. It was always difficult for me to accept theories as the final and ultimate truth. Then I began to read about Zen. This was like coming home, at least I found thoughts that paralleled my own thinking. I also found a great many awakened seekers here in Beliefnet Community. One thing I can say is that no one belief has a exclusive patent on awakened and intelligent minds. My friends come from many different backgrounds and beliefs, for each of you I am very grateful and thankful.
Note: As of the 16th of June Beliefnet has problems displaying my Journal. A work around exists! I have ascertained that in the month of June there was a major change by Beliefnet in the handling of Journal entries and my entire month of June's entries are "Lost". To view older Journal entries click on "Hermit_1" just above "More blogs>>" at the bottom of the visible Journal titles on this page.
