About Me
Salaamualaikum, and hi all! I am Beliefnet's Islam editor (though the Islam section isn't the only section I edit). I have three great kids. I am an American Muslim, born and bred in this country, but very much in touch with my home country of India, and of course very much connected to my faith. For me, at the end of the day it's about three things: Did I take care of my family well that day? Was I good person that day in God's eyes? And was I true to myself?
Check out Beliefnet's Islam page to learn more about Islam in America as well as about Muslims around the world. The Islam page explains Islam to non-Muslims while covering all aspects of the religion and its people for Muslims as well, with an emphasis on how Islam is being practiced by Muslim Americans. Some of our highlights include:
* An unprecedented gallery of prominent Muslim Americans explaining why Islam is against terrorism, and what the Prophet Muhammad teaches them.
* A wonderful "Understanding Islam" feature section exploring all aspects of the religion and its people in our post 9/11 landscape.
* The latest columns from our correspondent, Dr. Hesham Hassaballa, the "Midwestern Muslim"
* The Beliefnet Guide to Ramadan featuring last year's hit blog, "Hungry for Ramadan" by Shahed Amanullah
* The Beliefnet Guide to Hajj and Eid-ul-Adha featuring a virtual tour of the Hajj and all the rituals it entails.

FINDING COMMON GROUND BETWEEN MUSLIMS & JEWS - November 29, 2008 - 12:48 PM
There is much negative activity in the world that needs our loving attention and dialog. I would suggest we not allow the Group Finding Common Ground Between Muslims & Jews to die. Please join me in exploring avenues of commonality that furthers a peaceful co-existence. Thank you. Ev
