About Me
I'm a lifelong Anglican and I believe that human beings have been reconciled to God in the saving act of Jesus Christ, in his passion, crucifixion, death and resurrection. I believe that I am a work in progress, that I have a part to play in building the kingdom of God, and that I can do that by being loving, compassionate, just and nurturing. I believe that God is in and through all things. I find that the more I learn about my faith, the more there is to learn.
My life is in flux at the moment. My beloved husband of almost 46 years died in June 2007 (we would have celebrated our anniversary in August 2007) and I am still coming to terms with widowhood. So far it's five steps forward and one step back, and I thank God for the support of loving family, friends and my faith community. I also retired from teaching in 2007, hit the biblical span of threescore and ten, and two of my three cats died, so it's been a year of stress in more ways than one! I now live alone with my cat Chelsea.
I am a Marriage Commissioner for the Province of Manitoba and conduct between five and ten weddings a year - both heterosexual and homosexual couples. Since June 2007 I have been a member of the Anglican Church of Canada's Faith, Worship and Ministry Commission and serve on the Sexuality and Ethics committee for the Commission.
