I am a young-at-heart grandmother of three grandsons and three granddaughters. Two of my four sons are married. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, and have been active in music ministry for over twenty years. I am an artist of sorts (actually having a degree in art that I very much appreciate, but does nothing to help pay the bills). I love children, laughter, good food and a variety of music -- of which none include rap or hard rock!

Life has been a roller-coaster ride of events and relationships. Spending time in study, prayer and my own form of meditation I strive to grow spiritually and emotionally. My philosophy is that we never ARRIVE completely, but life is a journey of knowledge and insight. Our purpose is to learn to love ourselves and to express that same love to others as Jesus directed and lived. I have never seen Christ as many people try to explain Him, but seek the truth of His teaching and offer my thanksgiving for His grace. I believe if we would put more emphasis on giving to others spiritually, physically and emotionally we wouldn't have time to judge them and convince ourselves that we have "all the answers." I discovered through research that my personal values are very much founded in Quaker roots. Although I have never pursued an active roll in that faith, the beliefs I have developed over my lifetime mirror many professed in their doctrine.

Faith is a personal walk I believe should impact others with positive energy and compassion.

I was recently profiled as a "pragmatic meloncholy." I think that means I enjoy people, but am perfectly comfortable with my own company -- for hours on end and ALONE! Also, I have an unrealistic expectation for perfection in myself and in others. I was told by a professional I need to lower my expectations so that others can catch up! HA!
