About Me
I am a 51 yr old born again spirit-filled Christian.
My husband and I have been married for 18+ yrs. I am mom to a G/33, B/26, B/17 adopted, B/14, B/13, G/7 adopted. We did foster care for 7 yrs. I home school my 14 and 13 yr old. My oldest daughter is married and has my grand children, G/13, B/12, B/7, B/6 mo.
My life hasn't ever been real easy, but from all that things that happen to me I learn and try to grow from it. I was diagnosed with (SLE) Lupus in Aug. 2003. I think it was going on for some time before I was bad enough to get help. The prednisone that I took for 4 years really caused me to gain a lot of weight, and that has not only been hard mentally and emotionally, but physically too. I am only about 5' and weigh over 200 lbs. at this time. I was able to get off of prednisone finally, but the weight is not coming off real fast. I try to excercise and stretch, but I have problems with my tendons in my feet and knees making it painful to walk. If I sit for very long I stiffen up and it is even harder to walk. I do have good days that aren't as bad. I also am going through menopause, have High Blood Pressure, high Tryglicerides, sleep problems, depression and sleep apnea.
I like to write and read. Love to work on my computer and meet people, but my days are always so busy. I actually love it when I can sleep in. The sleeping in can do wonders for me.I have learned to try not to get over tired and over stressed, and am learning to ask for help more. That is a tough one.
About my kids and grads. My daughter recieved 2 degrees , one as a Pharmaseutical Tech, and the other general studies, but she is home with her baby now. She lives just 35 mi. away so we see her fairly often. My oldest boy is an Audio Engineer and lives in MN. Don't see him much and miss him. Our 17 yr old has Attachment problems with multiple diagnosises and difficulties. Our 14 yr old has some Asperger's Syndrome( High Functioning Autism) 13 yr old has some LD problems. Our 7 yr old has some attachment issues and Post-traumatic stress. So you can see why I am busy, but my husband is so good. he helps out a lot.
As for the grand kids, our Grand daughter that is 13 may have some Asperger's or something , but is undiagnosed. Her brothers 12 and 7 both are on the Autism spectrum. the 12 yr old is more severe. The 6 month old so far seems ok and is such a good baby. That is not just grandma speaking, he is so sweet and happy.
Well, all that is enough to over-whelm anybody, but that still is just a small glimpse of who I am. I hope to meet some others who may have some similar things in thier lives and hopefully we can share and be support , and pray for one another
