Art and Spirit - June 20, 2008 - 11:02 AM
Hi SpiritSing, and thanks for welcoming me as a friend here on beliefnet. I am a painter and have had many different therapeutic and intuitive experiences with art. In a way, my undergraduate art degree was all about self discovery and healing. The most recent experiences I have had have been kind of like divining (as in a dream, the things I painted corresponded with things in my future that I didn't understand when I did the paintings but found out about when I had the experiences!). I've been reading the book Art and Physics that has to do with the fact that art is the screen where new ideas/understandings first appear and then gradually those ideas emerge in the sciences, etc. I have found that intriguing, and also interesting to suddenly be reading a book that in a way is describing on a global scale what I've been experiencing as an individual. I look forward to learning more about your work with art and healing. Peace! Ty
